The Greatest Discovery of Our Lifetime

Endocannabinoid receptors and location in the body

In 1988 scientists at the St. Louis University Medical School discovered the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), the largest receptor & chemical messenger system in the body and the master regulator of homeostasis. This groundbreaking discovery of an entirely new physiologic system in the body has the ability to transform health care in our lifetime. You can think of the ECS as a switchboard functioning in and across all physiologic processes and organs, reacting to internal and external stressors to direct communication and overall manage your health.

The major role of ECS in the body is to maintain homeostasis, and it is involved in the regulation of a variety of processes, including immune, digestive, neurological, metabolic, and reproductive functions. Numerous physiological operations mood, learning, memory, cognition, appetite and pain perception, are modulated by the ECS. Fun fact: we have more CB1 & CB2  receptors throughout the body than any other kind!

Yes you have an internal, wildly intelligent stress and health management system whose chemical compounds promote & produce holistic wellness, decrease inflammation, alleviate mental anguish, moderate pain perception and more. But living in the modern world these naturally occurring molecules are depleted by pollution, plastics, pesticide exposures, the classic American diet, alcohol consumption and the chronic emotional, physical & psychological stresses of daily living.

The great news is we have an effective phytocannabinoid (aka a fancy word for a plant-based version of the similar molecules our body naturally products) to fill the void. We can replete our ECS and provide sufficient amount of cannabinoids to function optimally, bring our physiologic systems back in to balance and feel well in mind & body. This plant-based version is found in hemp flower extract and otherwise known as CBD. I have an additional site dedicated to education click to learn more & review research on how CBD helps with sleep, mental health, pain & more.

See below my recommendations and shop for safe, clean, high quality, efficacious CBD to support your ECS with me as your CBD coach & concierge

  • CBD has been proven to be non-addictive, safe, and non-intoxicating. A World Health Organization (WHO) report stated that CBD is safe and well-tolerated and found no adverse health outcomes or negative effects to public health. Hemp CBD has no high or euphoria nor physical dependence or abuse potential. It is an effective and easy way to replete your ECS. I only recommend and work with USDA Organic hemp CBD due to contamination concerns within the industry.

  • Unfortunately, many are rushing to market simply to capitalize on the excitement for CBD without high standards of health, safety & efficacy. The Journal of the American Medical Association has noted up to 70-90% of CBD on the market is mislabeled. CBD is NOT regulated by the FDA and significant greenwashing, false labeling and questionable manufacturing processes occur. I value you health & wellbeing and will never ask you simply to “trust me” about the quality of the products I recommend. All products are validated by third party independent labs and all meet the strict regulations of the US Department of Agriculture to be Organic and are free from pesticides & herbicides in every step of farming, processing & bottling. These independent certifications are non-negotiables when considering what to put in & on your body. These are the products I take myself & give to my family and are the highest grade medicinal plant extract available. As well as sustainable produced to ensure care of our planet during production.

  • I often hear, “I tried CBD and it didn’t work for me.” The three most common reasons this occurs are:

    1) Poor quality CBD. Or there wasn't actually CBD in the bottle! Research consistenly shown up to 70-90% of CBD on the market is mislabeled. A high-quality hemp plant is essential for high-quality CBD. It is crucial that the CBD and terpenes be extracted from the hemp flower of a high-quality, organic plant (not aerial parts). In addition, an extraction method using chemical solvents instead of CO-2 can alter the CBD making it difficult to interact with your ECS. The integrity of the CBD I recommend solves these issues.

    2) The person unknowingly took too much, too quickly. It is essential to start low and increase slowly. When too much CBD is taken, the receptors of the ECS are flooded and you bypass the sweet spot of benefits. We are used to the idea that “more is better,” but CBD is biphasic and starting low and increasing slowly is essential to finding your optimal results. I can help you with this process.

    3) The person did not take the CBD consistently. CBD will not give its maximum benefits if taken sporadically or "only when feeling stressed.” It takes time for the ECS to be toned, internal homeostasis to be achieved, and results to be experienced. Patience and consistency is key. CBD needs to be taken everyday as environmental, mental, and physical stressors of modern life deplete the ECS on a daily basis. I can help you set appropriate expectations and guide posts around developing this new wellness routine.
